Montessori Pre-School/Kindergarten Program

The Montessori Pre-School/Kindergarten environment is a multi-age classroom for children ages 3 through 6. The Montessori curriculum for this area includes activities which are organized into five areas. The Practical Life Exercises are the first activities the child is introduced to in the Montessori environment. The purpose of these activities is to develop basic personal and social skills used in daily living, like dressing oneself, cleaning things and being polite.

Another subject area is represented by The Sensorial Activities, which serve to enhance and enlarge the child's sense of perceptions of the world. Another two subject areas are Language Activities, which enable the child to start reading and writing, and The Mathematics Activities, which introduce counting and arithmetic. The last subject area, called Cultural Activities, exposes the child to fields such as physical science, history, geography, anthropology and biology.
